UEFA Champions League round 5 (day 2) expert betting predictions

Welcome to my preview and betting predictions of the UEFA Champions League round 5 games slated for today (Wednesday). Without further ado, let's delve straight into the games and dissect them so you have an idea of what to predict that will get you smiling to the bank.

Copenhagen vs Kairat

This is going to be the first meeting between these two sides. So, one can't really predict based on their head-to-head meetings. However, both teams struggle to score goals in the Champions League and even in their respective leagues. So I will advise punters to stake on under 3.5 goals here.

Pafos vs AS Monaco

Just like the previous game, this is going to be the first official meeting between these two sides. Pafos are shockingly the favorites here judging by current form but Monaco are a different beast in the Champions League as compared to their poor run of form in Ligue One. 

To be on the safe side here, I am going to advise punters to stake on under 4.5 goals as I really can't see a plethora of goals emanating from this clash. 

Arsenal vs Bayern

This is a game no human being on the face of the earth should miss because it promises to be highly entertaining. Both teams are top of their respective leagues and both teams have got very young managers doing well at the moment. Both teams met in the knockout phase of this competition in 2024 - with Bayern knocking the Gunners out 3-2 on aggregate. However, this is a one-off game to be played at Arsenal's fortress - the Emirates.

I am struggling to call this one because in this game anything is possible. But I think it's safest to bet on both teams to score here.

Atletico Madrid vs Inter

This is going to be another interesting watch tonight as both teams lock horns in Spain. Atletico Madrid have gone on win all five games they have played in all competitions since that embarrassing 4-0 defeat to Arsenal in October. Meanwhile, Inter come into this game on the back of a 1-0 loss to arch rivals AC Milan. Anything is also possible in this kind of fixture but I am going to settle for Atletico Madrid over 0.5 goals. That is Atletico Madrid to score at least one goal in the clash.

Frankfurt vs Atalanta

Frankfurt will be looking to carry their rich vein of form from the Bundesliga into the Champions League when they host struggling Atalanta tonight. I really can't see Atalanta causing Frankfurt too much trouble here, so I am going to be advising punters to bet on Frankfurt to win or draw.

Liverpool vs PSV

Arne Slot will be looking to avoid three straight defeats in this game with a point or maximum three points here. Meanwhile, PSV are no pushovers as they are in a scintillating form in the Eredivisie so far this season. PSV also haven't performed badly in the Champions League so far this season. I am going to advise punters to stake on both teams to score here.

Olympiacos vs Real Madrid 

Real Madrid will be hunting for their first win after failing to win in their previous three games in all competitions. And there is no better match to try to get the win than against Olympiacos. The Greek side are flying on the domestic scene but they have struggled in the Champions League so far this season. I am going to bank on Real Madrid to win here.

PSG vs Tottenham

Both sides already met in the UEFA Super Cup this season with PSG coming out on top 4-3 via penalties. I really think PSG playing at home will have too much for struggling Tottenham here. But to be on the safer side, I am going to advise punters to bet on PSG to win or draw in this one.

Sporting vs Club Brugge

I really think Sporting should be able to win this one judging by their form so far but to be on the safer side, I will advise punters to stake on Sporting over 0.5 goals. I see Sporting scoring at least one goal here against this inconsistent Club Brugge side.
